By playing on HorizonXI you agree to be bound and abide by all of the following terms and conditions contained herein (the “Server Rules”). You must be at least 16 years old to make an account and play on HorizonXI. In addition to the Server Rules, Adventurers are also expected to abide by the Discord Rules (in the #rules channel) if you use the HorizonXI Discord. These Server Rules may be updated or modified at any time without notice. All Adventurers are subject to the Server Rules and ignorance of the Server Rules is never a defense in the event of any violation. By using any HorizonXI services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You agree that HorizonXI Staff may collect data including: your email address, IP/MAC addresses, game activity logs (including chat logs), account names, character names, and other usage data. These items are collected to police cheating and ensure a fair play environment and will not be used for any other purpose. When these items are no longer required, the information will be deleted. By playing on the HorizonXI Server, you agree to hold harmless all HorizonXI Staff Members and their affiliates from any and all damages that you may experience as a result of account creation, game emulation, breach of data, or any other activities related to HorizonXI.

  1. I

RMT ("Real Money Trade"). The trading, exchange, sale, purchase, or transfer of (i) any kind of currency; (ii) any item of value; or (iii) any service for any services or items in game on the HorizonXI server is expressly forbidden. This includes the trading of in game currency on any other video game, service, or platform for HorizonXI gil, items, or services.

  2. II

One Account Per IP Address and Character Limits. HorizonXI is a “single box” server. Each Adventurer may only ever have one account, and each account is tied to the IP addresses that access it. An account is restricted to three (3) characters per account. Using multiple accounts on the same IP address is expressly forbidden without an IP exception. This includes account sharing on the same IP address by Adventurers who live in the same household and “functional dual boxing”. Functional dual boxing includes when another player in your household is only engaging in activities that benefit your character and is not playing with their own goals or progress in mind. Example: If your brother’s account is following you around and their only activity is holding extra items to be sold for your benefit, that is functional dual boxing. HorizonXI Staff have complete discretion to determine when an activity may be considered functional dual boxing, and what action may be taken against your account as a result. Sharing your account with a friend who uses methods to obfuscate their IP address, such as a VPN, may result in all accounts involved being banned. Please note that two adventurers sharing a single account on the same IP address (e.g. two players working together to play a single account) is also not allowed.

  3. III

Exploitation of Bugs and Game Mechanics. Exploiting bugs and game mechanics is expressly forbidden. This includes exploiting imbalanced or glitched content, abusing navmesh pathing, and unintended monster AI/job interactions. If you encounter any critical or game breaking bugs, exploits, or imbalances, please use the Discord ticket system to report them to HorizonXI Staff. Adventurers who discover any such exploits and use them to the advantage or detriment of themselves or others will face punishment depending on the circumstances. Any punishment issued will be at the complete discretion of HorizonXI Staff. If you are unsure about whether something is a bug or exploit, please submit a ticket on the Discord.

  4. IV

Addons and Third-Party Tools. The use of non-approved addons and third-party tools is strictly prohibited. Use of non-approved addons and third-party tools may result in your HorizonXI game account being suspended, or permanently banned, depending on the circumstances. Addons and Third-Party Tools which are approved for use will be listed on the addons page. If an addon or tool is not listed there, it is not allowed. A list of all prohibited add-ons will also be posted. Please use the #contact-us channel on Discord if you have questions about a specific addon or tool, and Staff may review your request and make a ruling. If you create an add-on to use on Horizon you must make it publicly available before it can be approved (approval is still at the discretion of HorizonXI staff).

  5. V

Dat Modification. DAT modifications such as texture upgrades, labeled maps, custom music and other quality of life enhancements are allowed. DAT modifications which give an Adventurer an unfair advantage in claiming (such as removing monsters) are not allowed.

  6. VI

Botting and Automation. Using any tool, program, or script to automate player activity in any way is expressly forbidden. This includes claim botting, farm botting, skill up botting, heal botting, quest botting, and the use of any other kind of botting program, tool, or script to automate player actions. This also includes more advanced functions of Ashitacast and Gearswap which react to in-game events. For example, using an Ashitacast rule to auto-equip a gear set on reaction to a monster TP move would violate the no automation rule. Actions which do not originate from player inputs are not allowed.

  7. VII

MPK (“Monster Player Kill”). Adventurers may not harness monsters and monster mechanics to intentionally harm, harass or kill other Adventurers. Maliciously attacking a non-friendly player who has become charmed by a monster is considered MPK and is an actionable offense. Determination of when attacking a charmed player constitutes MPK is at the complete discretion of HorizonXI staff.

  8. VIII

Ignoring Commands Issued by Game Masters (“GMs”). If a Game Master issues you a command, you must obey it. Ignoring a Game Master for any reason may result in punishment. If you feel a Game Master has made an incorrect decision or acted inappropriately, submit a ticket on Discord to discuss the situation with HorizonXI Staff.

  9. IX

Harassment and Hate Speech. Absolutely no harassment, witch hunting, sexism, racism, threats of violence, or hate speech will be tolerated in the HorizonXI game server. Hate speech is any language that condemns any race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender expression, disability, age, medical condition, mental health status, or any other group. Foul language may also be a violation, if it is targeted or used in a harassing manner toward another Adventurer or group. This rule applies to all forms of public game chat including search comments and bazaar comments.

  10. X

Griefing. Engaging in any action to intentionally disrupt another Adventurer's game experience for your own personal enjoyment or gain is strictly prohibited. Joking around is fine, but if someone asks you to stop or the conduct is clearly malicious, you may face punishment. Whether an action is considered Griefing will be determined by HorizonXI Staff based on the circumstances.

  11. XI

Holding Monsters. Holding a monster for longer than five (5) minutes without the intention to kill is not allowed. Holding a monster until help arrives even if you cannot currently kill it is fine. Holding monsters to forcibly extend the time of death or grief other players is prohibited.

  12. XII

Out of Era Items. Using or selling out of era (“OOE”) items for the current HorizonXI game expansion that may remain in the game client by mistake is not allowed. Please report any OOE items you find by submitting a ticket on Discord. We understand that not all Adventurers have encyclopedic knowledge of what may be OOE, but please use your best judgment. If you are unsure if an item is OOE, please use the #contact-us channel on the HorizonXI Discord.

  13. XIII

Leaked Information. If you encounter leaked Staff information, please use the #contact-us channel on the HorizonXI Discord to report it.

  14. XIV

Advertising. You may not spam or self-promote non-in game activities in public game chat channels (server invites, advertisements, links etc.) without permission from a Staff Member. This includes sending tells to fellow Adventurers. For example, advertising for your Linkshell in game is fine, but not spamming the link for a stream.

  15. XV

Gardening/Crafting. You may only garden and craft on your three (3) allowed characters per account per IP address. Gardening and crafting on other accounts or characters outside of the three (3) on your main account is prohibited.

  16. XVI

Yell/Shout Rules. Both Yell and Shout are subject to the “Harassment and Hate Speech” rules discussed above. Additionally, you may only use yell for: (i) looking for group/in-game recruitment (including Linkshells); and (ii) commerce.

  17. XVII

Termination of Account/Access to HorizonXI Game Server. HorizonXI Staff, in their absolute discretion, retain the right to terminate any Adventurer’s account or access to the HorizonXI game server for any reason, including violations of these Server Rules. The purpose of this provision is to provide mechanisms for HorizonXI Staff to be able to effectively combat any and all malicious actions that negatively impact HorizonXI or its Adventurers.

  18. XVIII

Power Leveling (“PL”) and “PL Burn” Parties. Horizon utilizes a “PL nerf” system which reduces experience points gained when players outside of a party generate enmity on a monster. The purpose of this system is to curb the power leveling META and encourage traditional EXP parties. Purposefully healing other players to reduce their EXP may be considered griefing depending on the circumstances. Example: A party of 6 are leveling, but an outside player pulls threat on the current monster by healing their tank. Because the power leveler has taken threat on the monster, the party will receive reduced or zero EXP when the monster dies. “PL Burn” parties are EXP parties that use area of effect (“AOE”) skills to damage large groups of monsters at the same time through the support of an outside power leveler. PL Burn parties which utilize a power leveler to function are not allowed. Normal AOE burn parties which utilize a power leveler during down time are allowed because they do not require the power leveler to function. HorizonXI staff have discretion to determine when a party is considered a PL Burn that is not allowed. Example: A group of 5 Black Mages and a tank form an AOE burn party without a power leveler. This party is allowed (even if a power leveler were to heal them in between pulls), because the party does not require the power leveler to defeat monsters. However, a party which requires a power leveler to defeat monsters by supporting the party members (either by pulling monsters or healing the party during combat) would not be allowed.

  19. XIX

Filing GM Tickets. GM tickets can only submitted on the HorizonXI discord in the #gm-support channel. In-game GM calls currently do not function. GM tickets should only be filed by the Adventurers affected by an issue. Adventurers cannot file GM tickets on behalf of another adventurer and GMs reserve the right to discard tickets filed on behalf of another Adventurer.

  20. XX

Inappropriate Naming. Any naming option an Adventurer has the ability to customize must be appropriate and inoffensive. Names may be considered inappropriate and subject to a name change because they contain any of the following content: (i) political content; (ii) offensive sexual content or sexual innuendo; and (iii) any name which includes forbidden content described in the “Harassment and Hate Speech” section of the Server Rules. The determination of whether a name change is required is at the discretion of HorizonXI staff.

  21. XXI

Mercenary Service Advertisements Advertising the sale of mercenary services (“mercing”) in any public chat channel is not allowed on HorizonXI. “Mercing” is defined as the act of selling: (i) content clears (e.g selling Dynamis clears); (ii) rare/exclusive items (items that are not tradable); and (iii) services to clear content for another player (e.g. shouting to sell a clear in a piece of content in exchange for Gil, a portion of the drops, or any other form of compensation). Note that this rule does not forbid players from using public chat channels to offer compensation to other players to help them with in game content.
